Praise

What is praise? Is it enough? What does the Bible say? Lets explore.

Praise is thanking God for the good things he has done. Most often we sing our praise. This is why we have so many songs to, or about God. Is it enough? I say no. Similar to a distant relative sending us a gift that we are not really into but we are told to thank them, (sometimes to tell them how much we love it even if we hate it). This is just my opinion on it. Lets look at what the Bible says. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God to you."

That is a good example of a required praise thank you. We have to learn to be grateful even through the pain. At first we might not mean it but we do as we expect we should. In 2 Thessalonians 1:3-12 we get the reason we are to give thanks is to glorify God. This is similar to coming to understand that it is an acknowledgement of the love that was shown to us. Even this is only being partially thankful. While it is good, we know when we get such a thank you so I am certain God who knows all can tell. What then do we do? Any thoughts?
